abdomen is yellow with black spots; large eyes; short antennae; black and orange legs, many long hairs on face and abdomen, dark brown thorax; wings

Habitat:

I saw it at local bird park that has a pollinator garden and marshy ponds.

Thanks Brian38. I looked up the robber fly. I saw images of the red-footed cannibal fly and think they are a good match. Are the robber fly and red-footed cannibal fly in the same family?
