Description:

These two flew on to my arm attached wen i just entered our roof top ..... they didnt even fly away although i moved a lot

i want to know which plants they lay their eggs on ... so dat i can rear their caterpillars

also which one male and female

Notes:

I always see such butterflies feeding from my Golden dew drop and Madagascar Periwinkle flowers

Thank u very for the info .... although i released them already ... i did put some rice leaves but they didnt seem to be laying any eggs ... didnt want them inside the jar

EOL provides a description to identify between male and female on the detail tab. Basically - the one on the right, with clearer spots on it, is the female. Adults feed on nectar. Young eat rice plants. "Newly hatched caterpillars are especially voracious in eating young seedlings.
