Hello Aaron, I would just like to bring it to your attention that painting a turtle greatly endangers the life of a turtle by exposing it to predators with the painted-on unnatural colors. Was this turtle a pet, or did it live in the wild? If this was wild, could you please not do this in the future, as it jeopardizes its life. Thanks so much.
Indeed, a midland painted turtle. Shame someone painted it, they are naturally beautiful. Plus it is really harmful to them.
Not sure but I believe that to be a Midland Painted Turtle Chrysemys picta marginata
