Field Notes

Description:

Small butterfly, wings about 1 in. These photos are all of the same butterfly, the color changed as it moved & the light sturck it from different angles. All the time it was on the ground, the hind wings were "sawing" up & down rapidly

Habitat:

Pine forest with manzanita & bitterbrush
