Description:

The rough-tailed bowfoot gecko is active during the night, hunting for small insects such as ants, termites, beetles, moths, and grasshoppers. It often forages in artificially lit areas, often associated with human habitation, where it picks off insects that are attracted to the light ~Arkive.org

Habitat:

spotted in a blanket in my desert garden

Notes:

aka Rough-tailed Gecko and Rough-tailed bowfoot gecko; likely not to be native fauna to Egypt - may have been introduced by humans through Red Sea ports, historically popular in trade A Guide to the Reptiles and Amphibians of Egypt - Sherif Baha El Din
