This is an erythraeid in the subfamily Callidosomatinae.
Asergio, finally, from half way around the world, I find a mite similar to one I spotted, only mine was about 4-mm +- http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7853168
williefromwi, usually they are very active, and it is almost impossible to catch them, but today was quite cold, and I think this little fella had just filled the tank with someone's blood, so it allowed me to come very close.

From the tip of front legs to the tip of the rear ones, 1 mm +-
