Amethyst deciever
Laccaria amethystina
53.2912, -1.98708
Field Notes
Description:
Biggest about 4cm tall, there were probably around 40 of them total. Slightly rubbery texture, gills a little brittle particularly when flexing the cap. No distinct smell or taste but I maybe have detected some acridity? Growing under beech. 2nd image decurrent gills on new fruitbodies and gills seem same granular texture as the cap. 5th image shows a paler one next to a darker one. The fruitbodies I collected have gone pale now they've dried out. 6th image all the new growths pointing in same direction (maybe because of camera angle, maybe wind or something else?). Laccaria amethystina is my guess. L. amethystina is an edible species despite purple colour
