Field Notes

Description:

Intricately branched shrub to about 8 ft. White flowers about 1 1/2 in wide, 5-6 petals, spring to fall, followed by tasslelike seedhead that resembles a tiny feather duster, and reminded early settlers of headdresses worn by the Apaches.

Habitat:

Full sun, partial shade, adaptable to different soils, but likes good drainage. Drought tolerant.
