Field Notes

Description:

Arrowhead shaped leaves 8 in long, emerge in fall or early winter. Plant goes dormant in warm weather. Greenish white flowers in early spring enclosed by spathe. Clusters of fruit follow, turning red as they age.

Habitat:

Moist shade.
