Shades of brown. Armor plated. Sucking mouth parts. About 3/4 inches long.

Backyard.

It's an assassin bug, definitely. Family Reduviidae. The colors look similar to Sinea sp., but without a better image I can't say for sure--there are genera similar to Sinea.
