Description:

Also known as Variable Volute and Cone Shell, its beautiful shell is variable in color and pattern. The inhabitant is much bigger than its shell. They feed on other mollusks, and grow to a length of about 16cm.

Habitat:

Found on mud and seagrass, usually in silty habitat, at depths of 1 to 20m. Widespread in the Indo-Pacific region.

Notes:

Spotted this shell during a night dive at Isla Reta Beach Resort. It was moving at a pretty fast clip when I saw it.
