Field Notes

Description:

North America's largest rodents, beavers have a thick brown coat, webbed hind feet and a flat, scaled tail.

Habitat:

Prefers watercourses edged with deciduous forests, often building a dam that then creates a pond. Our beaver enclosure is shaded with a den and large swimming area, we add a variety of saplings for them to eat, chew and build with.

Notes:

Our beavers were orphaned and raised in captivity.
