Description:
Beechdrops are parasitic plants that grow exclusively on the roots of beech trees. They have no leaves and produce both cleistogamous(closed-marriage) and chasmogamus (open marriage) flowers. The open flowers(first pic) are located at the top of the stems, the closed(second pic) self-pollinating flowers are located at the base of the stems.
