Species ID Suggestions

Flower Beetle or Flower Chafer

Cetoniinae

Comments (1)

Scarabaeidae, Cetoniinae, Flower Beetle. Now I have a little problem you may help to sort it out. There is a Glycyphana stolata from India, IDed by a Indian insect lover ("insect literacy" as profession on the flickr profile), so this guy seems to know what he is talking about. But I have my doubts about this ID. BioLib has the same picture IDed as Cetoniinae cf. Glycyphana stolata, which is actually a common flower beetle from Australia called Brwon Flower Beetle. This one looks in my eyes completely different from yours or the other Glycyphana stolata. So I think this ID might be not correct or not precise enough. Glycyphana sp. might be a hint, but I couldn't find any species or similar one on research. What do you think?? Definitely the same one, but is ID really correct?? http://www.flickr.com/photos/dalalsure/3860984921/in/photostream http://www.biolib.cz/en/taxonimage/id106240/?taxonid=8159&type=1 http://www.treknature.com/gallery/Asia/India/photo132217.htm http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_scarabs/BrownFlowerBeetle.htm http://www.papua-insects.nl/insect%20orders/Coleoptera/Scarabaeidae/Cetoniinae/Glycyphana%20varicorensis.htm http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_scarabs/Cetoniinae.htm
