Description:

This is a male box turtle. 15 cm long measuring carapace of the shell. 16 cm side to side measuring over the top of the shell. 13 cm long plastron. Box turtles can close their shell completely.

Habitat:

This turtle when found was covered in mud, our best guess is that he had just dug out of his winter home. Found in a grassy area close to the high school.
