Description:

Neoalcis californiaria is the only species in the Genus Neoalcis in North America. The wingspan is about 34 mm. Found along the west coast of North America (British Columbia to southern California).

Habitat:

Spotted under porch light on the house.

Notes:

The larvae feed on various broadleaf trees and shrubs, but mainly Douglas-fir. Other host plants include western hemlock, western red cedar, grand fir, and lodgepole pine.
