Field Notes

Description:

stiff tailed diving duck

Habitat:

city park

Notes:

He kept diving, so this is the only photo I have with a whole duck in it. Aside from the white face patch, I'm used to a different coloration. Perhaps he is in between winter and summer color?

THANK YOU! I knew it wasn't right for a ruddy. I dind't even think of BUfflehead, because they are always paired up AND in the bays or large lakes... not this smallish city pond. She was hanging out with Lesser Scaups... unless of course my lesser scaups are greater scaups?
