Yes Its typical Abutilon sp shrub plant's dried seed-pods.
This looks like seed heads of Velvetleaf Mallow (Abutilon theophrasti). Take a look at http://eol.org/pages/584739/overview and see what you think. I'm not familiar with the mallow group, so it may be another species?
