Field Notes

Description:

This cacti was 6 ft tall with 1 inch round branches. Many of the ends of branches had yellow fruit. The branches are often growing at right angles and are covered with grayish white spines.

Habitat:

Spotted in southern New Mexico. Chihuahuan Desert. 4000 ft elevation.

Notes:

It is native to Arizona and New Mexico in the United States; and Chihuahua and Sonora in Mexico.
