Description:

I was taking wildflower photos when I ran across these partially mummified remains. They were on the Belton Lake spillway, about 20 feet from the road crossing the dam.

This one kinda makes me sad. From the shape of the skull, it looks like a domestic dog to me. How sad. Do you have any recollection of the size of this canine? It looks like it was a large dog, but sizing in pictures can be deceiving. He may have been attacked by a wild predator or was a stray or feral dog that was ill or emaciated. It doesn't look like he had a collar. I wonder if he was someone's pet that got lost. :(
