Field Notes

Habitat:

spotted in front yard

Notes:

This is Mickey Kitten. My daughter brought him home a few weeks ago after seeing him tumbled by a car on a major highway. (notice how his lower lip is permanently separated from the gum) Three days ago he disappeared. Yesterday he returned. Apparently he had been taken as a feral cat and neutered and marked--the clipped ear. Third photo is him with his "best friend" Jerbill, an unapproachable semi-feral cat born under the trailer next door.

How cute! Mickey kietten seems to have fallen on his fett - all four of them! We have a trap, neuter & released program around here too. I've heard it is actually a better solution at managing the feral cat problem than euthanasia as typically as soon as a feral cat colony is removed, another takes its place.
