Description:

Cows of several colors hanging out on rolling plains.

Habitat:

Seen on a farm in the Hawaiian highlands (altitude >2500 ft).

Notes:

A cattle egret also joined in.

I know they have a "pecking order" just like chickens. There was never any doubt about who the boss of the herd was. Egret "drivers." That's funny. I'll think of that every time I see one now. Thanks for the chuckle Mauna.

I like when egrets sit on the cattle. They look like they’re driving. :) Anytime, Tukup. Did you know that cows have best friends? Growing up on an Iowa farm, cattle were very commonplace, but now, here in Ecuador as in Hawaii, often they are accompanied by Egrets. That's cool. No Egrets in Iowa :-) Thanks for sharing Mauna.
