Field Notes

Description:

Varying shades of brown with black and white stripes.

Habitat:

Thicker woods.

Notes:

Burrowed in a stone outcropping for a nest. The picture is in a tree near a bird feeder. There are two that live here and come to the feeder a few times a day. My dog is not a fan and this poor one stayed up in the tree when I let them outside. Once I saw them, let the pups in and then took some pictures. Poor guy was frozen so I let him be and kept the dogs inside. Eventually, they calmed down and crawled down. They are fine and still come back every day.
