Field Notes

Description:

Tall, slender cactus that can have multiple branches with medium spines. Unfortunately it was not in flower to help narrow down the species. I suspect it's Ganders Cholla. The second image shows what dead Cholla looks like.

Habitat:

Anza-Borrego Desert State Park during the superbloom
