Field Notes

Description:

Our friendly local carpet python, about 2 meters long, out for a bit of a wander round the porch, probably looking for food and a sunny warm spot!

This one has the most intricate, dappled peppery ventral scales I have ever seen on a snake - beautiful!

Habitat:

Most of the eastern QLD coast and northern coastal NSW. Quite common in well-treed suburbs, relatively docile and can get quite large!!
