Description:

I personally observed that these colorful lichens are found the most in landscaping ,where there is maximum use of weed killers and insecticides .

Argy, usually,green lichen is an indicator of good air quality.That is not the case with orange lichen which is more pollutant tolerant. Please feel free to correct me!
What i mean is that the over use of chemicals is the cause for these colored lichen. These usually indicate a higher level of toxic chemicals and heavy metals.I hope that was a little better in terms of explanation.
Wow! That's a great collection. Could be years worth of IDing there :) Did you mean maximum or minimum above?
Now I have to work on identifying these! Very delighted to find so many types of lichen!
