Congratulations Fyn, your Common Eupithecia has been chosen to illustrate our Fact of the Day: "On #NationalMothWeek, each day we'll be bringing you an educational fact about moths, courtesy of National Moth Week team member and Project Noah ranger Jacob Gorneau. Today we're introducing moths in the genus Eupithecia, which are found worldwide with hundreds of species described. Many have the same general appearance as adults with grayish wings that are quite elongated. While most moths in this genus, including the one in this photograph, are herbivores, some species in Hawaii are carnivores and use their ability to resemble a stick to catch flies, making them one of the few carnivorous species of Lepidoptera!"
