Description:

The common ground cherry grows on a vine and has bell shaped greenish-yellow flowers, purplish-brown centers are alone on stalks in the leaf axil. The plant is sticky and hairy. The flowers are 3/4ths of an inch (2cm) wide with the part that contains the pollen. Their flowering is June to September, habitat is dry woods and clearings, and range is New England to Georgia.

Habitat:

We found this plant in a field on the edge of woods.
