Its probably a Common snapping turtle; Scientific name: Chelydra serpentina. They are very abundant in Tx.
Regretfully no. We encountered the turtle on one of our walks and the children made the turtle nervous so I went ahead and took a picture hoping someone could possibly recognize it by the carapace. I 'll try to look for itagain on our next walk and get a better picture. Thanks.
