Field Notes

Description:

White body with a black spot on the heads. Grey to black tips of wings. Bright Orange long beak.

Habitat:

The shoreline of the lake. Hunted up into the canal when it was flooded, mostly in the cranberry brushes where the fish like to spend their time at this time of the year.

Notes:

They spend a lot of the day flying back in forth in groups of 2-3. Diving down into the water to get small fish. They were at this location for months.

Did have a moment of screeching at an Osprey that tried to fish in their area. Also had to leave for a while when the Bald Eagle couple came over to fish.
