Bufo Viridis

found some similarities (red eyes too) - maybe its some francoitalian riviera phenotype... http://www.flickr.com/photos/7880841@N06/4362126682/in/photostream/
well the eyes can vary between yellow and green there it says.. but i know that there are several subspecies of bufo viridis... and there are often hybrids between b.viridis and b.calamita (also but rare with b.bufo)... but still this wouldn explain the reddish iris... could be some individual variation...
wait a moment, maybe I'll find some usefull evidence at www.herpetofauna.at
Thanks, Martin, for the compliment and the suggestion. But I must admit I'm still doubting about changing the species... This one had brown-reddish eyes and I don't see that in the pictures I found of the green toad. I must admit I'm no expert and don't have any scientific books to check it... You?
Wow Really a Big One indeed!!! but i think it's a green toad, as the common toad isnt really green, rather only brown, even if warts make it a little difficult to see that it's actually unicolored, truly a Lovely spotting... i think it would be really great if you added it to the 'Reptiles and Amphibians of Central Europe' Mission: http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/13293017
