Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica 4.5 months into the 6 month dry season.

Hi Larry, after doing some research and contacting a specialist I'm quite sure that it is Hypselonotus lineatus...
Larry and Karen, I've got some doubts about the correct identification, too - because of the missing spots. I'm quite sure that the specimen belongs to the genus Hypselonotus - but it may belong to another species. I've contacted a spezialist for Coreidae. Hope that he can help...
Hey Karen, There seems to be a question about the I.D. here. This spotting doesn't have the spots that the Spot-sided Coreid has. Could it be another species?
The plant it's on looks like Scorpion Tail - Heliotropium angiospermum. Great shots of it and the insect.
