Description:

Possibly Laccaria laccata group. There were many clumps of these at different parts of the preserve. Thick, fleshy gills are a fairly conspicuous feature of this genus.

Habitat:

Wet grassy area and even in some spots where the base of the mushrooms were in standing water at Payne's Prairie Preserve State Park. The park was a bit flooded from recent rains
