Thanks for such a fast reply! I actually have had Lymes Disease so I have experienced what you are talking about. They are a major problem where I live here in Columbia County, NY. Thanks for your help in identifying it as a deer tick! I am so thankful for this app! What a great community of outdoor enthusiasts!
Welcome to Project Noah Andrew! This is a deer tick which unfortunately are carriers of a number of diseases that can affect humans including lyme's disease. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyme_disease We have an absolute plague of them in Tennessee at the moment & I regularly find a dozen on more of my after I've been outside. I've moved this to arthropods for you.
