Himalayan lower ranges are geographically connected upto Turkey.... Many Eurasian species find from Portugal to China- Korea and Japan.
cliens is reported in Israel, Jordan and Southern Iran. No reference from India as bayucca already quoted. Does not really match Himalayan region.
Thanks. Can you ID this? No one could find a reference of this species found in India.
You are right bayucca. I have found no reference of this moth as found in India. But the suggestion looked exactly the same.
I would agree with Polytela sp., but I am not sure and have some doubts if you would find Cliens in the Indian Himalaya. It is a typical subsaharian species with some reports on the Canary Islands. Other sources report it from Israel, Jordan and Southern Iran. From the climate aera it does not really match your mountainous region. http://www.afromoths.net/species/show/33229
Harsha, the mission was extended during Moth Week, and now is a global mission.
This moth was spotted in India. Your mission accepts spottings only from Americas. No?
Its alright. I didn't have the common name. :) It was pink enough! :)
Could you consider adding this to my Moths mission, Moths of the Americas? http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8841449 Thanks!
Sorry for the suggestion...did not see your confirmation. This must be a very pink variation! Most of the ones I saw were very white!
Mostly "Polytela cliens" but not sure...
Thanks a lot Leuba. I have no idea about its family. Thanks Yogesh.
beautiful ! Does this belong to the same family as the Indian lily moth - has similarities. I just love the colours and the red bean pattern
