Description:

Virginia Pines are small to medium-sized pine trees growing up to 60 ft. They have long, spreading branches and a trunk up to one and a half feet across. They have reddish brown bark, the pine needles are short; between 1&1/2 to 3 inches long. The pine cones are small and oval up to two and a half inches long. The roots are shallow and for there relative rapid growth.

Habitat:

The Virginia Pine is found in well draining soil with a pH of 4.5-7.5. It is native of lower elevations from to 50-2500 ft. It's found in the SE America and Western Canada.
