Description:

Yay! A new-to-me bug on my birthday :)
This bug was sitting on the edge of a leaf after sunset. It's very flat on the top and the antennae are black and white.
Tentative ID

Habitat:

Pomelo leaf in backyard orchard. No pine or oak nearby.

Notes:

Nice find, it sure would be hard to see if it was on bark….
The original description of A. depictus fits your species, see: http://biodiversitylibrary.org/page/27141814 Specifically: "Scutellum black at apex ...", as opposed to uniformly dark This isn't evident in the BugGuide photos. There is bound to be some individual and/or geographical variation anyway. IMHO, A. depictus is a good ID
I've moved this back to the genus level per Bug Guide "close to A. depictus but may be new to the guide. The pale posterior half of the scutellum may be diagnostic"
