Field Notes

Description:

Small brown/bronze coloured beetle appox 4mm in size.

Habitat:

local forest reserve - gum and eucalypt area.

Notes:

I have searched through Insects Of Tasmania ...closest i can come too is

Would like another opinion ...or is this my FIRST Leaf beetle for the season ? :)

Those little black wall plugs will probably be a paropsid when they grow up. Some species have 3 cycles per season so 2 months might be enough for them to mature fully.
No that's spot on. The femurs give the flea beetle id and the link to TD's pic is perfect.
So you think the id ...is correct or keep looking ?
Well atleast i found some larvae thats a start ...wasn;t sure about this one , was nothing like the flea one i found last week ..and it flew. :( hehe
