Balcony, attracted from surrounding countryside by night light. Limestone outcrop in foothills of Los Serranos mountains.

Hi Malcolm ,I think it is a species of Velvet Ant ,which are actually wasps ----Mutillidae.The females are wingless ,but the males have wings .
