No, that was my bad, I see now, that subgenus doesn't need to be included. I have update, thanks bayucca.
Should be Anisorrhina sp., Melinesthes is the subgenus. Or do you have other infos?
Thanks a lot bayucca, it does look a lot like M. algoensis and elongate.
Scarabaeidae, Cetoniinae, Anisorrhina as genus and Melinesthes as subgenus. Species is tricky, since I am not really sure how trustable all the IDs are you will found. Quite common in RSA is Anisorrhina algoensis which is probably also yours, but I am not sure. There is a Anisorrhina elongata from Tanzania which could also be yours. There is also Anisorrhina sternalis. But I guess there are others around in Malawi. I am not really familiar with the biogeographics in and around Malawi. http://www.ispotnature.org/species-dictionaries/sanbi/Anisorrhina%20(Melinesthes) https://www.flickr.com/photos/zimbart/16747376540/ http://www.flower-beetles.com/genyodonta.html http://www.whatsthatbug.com/2013/12/17/scarab-south-africa/
