Field Notes

Description:

Galls or cecidia are outgrowths on the surface of lifeforms. Plant galls are abnormal outgrowths of plant tissues, similar to benign tumors or warts in animals. They can be caused by various parasites, from fungi and bacteria, to insects and mites. Not sure which is the infected plant here and what is the parasite causing it. Can someone help to identify ?

Habitat:

Have spotted it on the footpath of ITPL road during a walk to my office on 15th of May. This can be seen at a distance of 20-30 meters after Igate bus stop if you walk towards Graphite India bus stop.
