Field Notes

Description:

It belong to the pea family (Leguminosae).
Prennial herb. Thick and erect stems of 30-70 cm high. Leaves divided in a small terminal one and 8-10 lateral pairs; leaflets eliptic or spear shaped, covered underneath bu silky hairs. Flowers with butterfly shape in raceme pedunculated; white corole with the superior petalus up to 3,5 cm long. Fruit in pea-pod oblonge, Fruto en legumbre oblonga, inflated, green when young and bluff-reddish when mature, a bit hairy, of 6-7 cm de longitud. It blooms in spring.

Habitat:

Mediterranean forest between Holm oaks. Parque Nacional de Monfragüe
