Field Notes

Description:

A flowering perennial shrub, with large simple leaves, and producing multitude of attractive white flowers. White five-petaled asymmetrical flowers measure approximately 4cm at the largest point, and produce five very long anthers (about 7 to 8 cm long). The center of each flower is pink. Most likely Clerodendrum infortunatum, a native to tropical regions of South Asia, and a well-known plant in traditional Siddha medicine, a medicine practiced in South India and Sri Lanka.

Habitat:

. Here, grows as weed on edges of agricultural land and on road edges close to the beach.

I think maybe Clerodendrum infortunatum, but I'm not sure.
