Field Notes

Description:

40mm; slight furriness on thorax; mostly black with flashes of bright orange in rear abdominal segments; heavy black wing venation; very approachable on cloudy day at 20degrees C

Habitat:

Open parkland on young eucalyptus stem.

Notes:

Silly common name for what is obviously a cicada.
