Description:

Melanostoma is a large genus of hoverflies.They are suspected to be general predators of small insects in leaf litter.
Spotted on a Pericallis tussilaginis flower

Habitat:

Misty forests north-east of Tenerife. Parque Rural de Anaga, Anaga peninsula. Tenerife, Canary Islands.
