Field Notes

Description:

Looks similar to bees, only it is a bit smaller and has vibrant yellow and black stripes and wings like a fly. Because they hover around flowers and look a bit like a fly they are called "hoverflys"-how convenient.

Habitat:

Meadows, pastures, gardens ...

Notes:

Until this spotting I didn't know how they were called. It looks like in Slovenia we call them "trepetavke".
