Description:

Another colonial organism! Also a hydrozoan like my last spotting, but a different genus.

Habitat:

It seemed like they were growing on/anchored to a red seaweed. Washed up on Schoolhouse Beach, Bodega Bay

Hema, I was in California in early November visiting my sister for just a short time. Maybe if I visit her again sometime I will check out Mt. Diablo.

I have seen your Alaskan tide pool spottings.Are you planning MT Diablo?It is going to rain for the next several days.Hiking and exploring might be a little more difficult.Also the summit on top can get windy and cold. Sometimes there is snow on top and people sled. Since you are a hard core explorer you might not find it that difficult. But check at the range station. Mitchell canyon is another rugged spot to hike .On a night hike with a black light you might be able to see the glow in the dark scorpions. Check with a ranger to see if they would be able to do a night hike for you.

Hema, we have a lot of tide pools in Alaska. It's my favorite place to explore.
