Description:
The St. John's wort, Hypericum perforatum L. scientific name, belongs to the family of Ipericaceae and is a plant that grows by forming large bushes. It is recognized easily as the leaves have the distinction of being rich in glands and when viewed against the light, the leaf datatype appear as "punched".
The St. John's Wort is a perennial, provided with a short rhizome with erect stem, reddish, woody, much branched and up to 1 meter. The leaves are opposite, without petioles, oval-lanceolate provided with numerous glands rich in essential oil. The yellow flowers are dotted with black and corymb inflorescence to appear during the summer. If you rub the flowers of Hypericum in the fingers, the skin color of red. The fruits are ovoid capsules.
Habitat:
