Field Notes

Description:

A very convex and shiny beetle, black with red lateral stripes.

Habitat:

Found under bark in a nature reserve.

Notes:

This nocturnal beetle is nitid throughout and has ten very fine puncturation striae on each elytron.
The red lines are visible to varying degrees on alternate interstices of the elytral striae including the margin of the elytra continuing to the pronotum and head. Fovea occur in the disc of the pronotum and on the humerus of the eltyra adjoining the base. .
