Field Notes

Description:

This dull paropsine beetle is endemic to Tasmania. A typically large tortoise leaf beetle with light speckles on the elytra. The elytral suture is sulcate and darkly marked.

Habitat:

Feeding on foliage of eucalyptus.

Notes:

This beetle was spotted and supplied by Ian.
The specimens are used to compile a comprehensive online collection of the 71 species of beetles in the genus Paropsis.
